Finally got my first Omega

After years of research and hunting, I finally narrowed in on wanting to get a vintage Seamaster, reference 166.010. Recently I found someone that could help me find one, and now the wait is over.

I finally have it in my hands and on my wrist and I couldn’t be happier! Nothing compares to seeing and feeling in person and it’s nicer than I even imagined. The watch seems to me to be in amazing condition for being nearly 60 years old. It came with a BOR bracelet, and while I like it more than I thought I would, I did put it on a leather strap and I think it looks great. I’m truly blown away by the quality of this watch.

Big thanks to OF for the wealth of knowledge and members willing to offer guidance.

I should also mention it’s a cal. 565, and going by the serial number, from 1968.

Really like the leather strap, but can’t deny how good it looks on the bracelet!

Right? I feel like it’s so versatile, and can be worn casually or more dressed up. There’s a simple elegance to it.

Im actually curious if a milanese bracelet like this would work with it.

I think yes. I have a few mesh straps and they really change the look like a different watch.

Update: I went ahead and pulled the trigger on getting an Omega mesh bracelet for my Seamaster and I think it looks really nice. So fun to have a bunch of options, sometimes it’s hard to choose!
