I don’t think you missed much @Dre . This one is really only for completists and brand historians, unless you have a line on a spare dial. Without the red, it’s difficult to appreciate the point of it (in fact, looks a bit like an awkward redial to my eye). I happen to have the Gallet version of the Film Compax with a compromised dial, and i don’t find that I enjoy it.

Exactly what I thought too on the dial condition, I didn't even really think about it anymore actually, until you posted the eBay link. Mind sharing a photo of that Gallet version?

And congrats Tarik on getting that Film-Compax in eBay 😉

The one in the article is the philips / menta one? Is that generally considered the best of the 7 known? How much would something like this be worth anyone have a guess?

As a curiosity I attach a picture of a 1973 (printed in 1972) catalog with the Gallet "Film". It appears only on this specific1973 catalog, not in previous or later catalogs.

Thanks, yes, you can see some pictures in the Gallet World FaceBook group, like this one (credit David R Laurence).

Here's a "Film" appropriately branded by the Camera Equipment Co of New York which I referenced above. Finally dug it out.

These are awesome! Only seen one in person from a private collector.

$20K starting price ! Shameful ...

Morphy Auctions, a popular auction house not doing their homework and what amounts to a rip off !
