True. Like a world time bezel on a dive watch. The silly is what makes it spectacular

very very rare and yes it is the same one from the Phillips auction.
If I was willing to put so much cash in a single watch and didn't have a very long list of watches I rather add to the collection first I would seriously think about it hihih 😉

I remember not hitting the BIN button on one of these five years ago because $3500 seemed silly::facepalm1::

I had the opportunity to buy a mint one in Italy at 5K (Euro). I attempted to haggle and deal fell through.

What was I thinking 🤦 !!

Daymn what a shame! I only have 5 watches documented in my Film-Compax folder, not one them is what I would call mint. Any chance you can share some photos of this watch from Italy D for documentation purpose?

I recall we debated it at the time and both shrugged

Gotta be honest though .. I know these can be like Pokémon but 80 grand for a pretty ordinary old tool watch is...... arghhhhhh ...Just thought of that nasty old Tudor Sub ..... oh well someone with deep pockets is going to grab this. Guess it’s a badge of honor that UG has achieved this level!

Not the best dial by any standard but seeing these rarely surface ever, it should get a lot of attention.

Maybe the buyer has a can of red paint and a steady hand.

Someone has managed to scrub the red printing off, but the case looks great

The watch was offered to me privately last week, sadly I’m in no position on purchasing it unfortunately.

I don’t think you missed much @Dre . This one is really only for completists and brand historians, unless you have a line on a spare dial. Without the red, it’s difficult to appreciate the point of it (in fact, looks a bit like an awkward redial to my eye). I happen to have the Gallet version of the Film Compax with a compromised dial, and i don’t find that I enjoy it.
