Wow I've always been a supporter of the Portuguese selection but really Morocco deserves their qualifications !

& Now let's find out who will be the last qualified for the semi-finals.

I'm not biased at all in my wish of who this should be 😀

Really feel for the England fans. The torment just never seems to end. Always on the wrong side of history no matter how talented the team. The other fans I feel for are the Netherlands. 3 times finalist and not one win.

Well I feel for the England fans too, especially as they globally played a better football for most of the game.
I guess the tabloid won't be nice tomorrow.

But now let's see who is going to go to the final.

Some questionable refereeing decisions in both matches today…

I agree that England played quite well. They had the bulk of possession but just couldn't create many good scoring chances. And whatever few chances there were got saved. France on the other hand converted their chances, which resulted from momentary defensive lapses. In a game between two good teams, it really is fine margins.

I think the dream final for most neutrals would probably be France v Argentina, with Argentina to win it for Messi's swansong. However, something tells me that France would probably be just a bit too savvy and edge it, just like they did to England.

They will have a better chance of that if they don't give away stupid, unnecessary penalties and free kicks in dangerous areas like they did today.

Well before France going to the final, there is Morocco. They have proved themselves to be very well organized to counter any teams so far (Just imagine : Portugal, Spain, Croatia and Belgium have not been able to score against them !!)

As a big time supporter of Les Bleus, I definitely agree that the Three Lions played better overall yesterday, but I am obviously damn happy that we won in the end.
Anything more from this point on is just gravy on the meal… and if we happen to lose against Morocco, then I will obviously be rooting for them in the final.
But if we win, then I am hoping for a France - Argentina for the final!

Allez les bleus!!!

I too was supporting France last night, and I readily admit that England was the better team on the pitch for large chunks of this match. But France showed that it is now a true powerhouse, still managing to win a confrontation where it suffered greatly. Besides, France scored twice in regular play while England had to rely on penalty kicks.

But the English players are improving with every tournament, and yesterday's heartache will definitely be part of their road to greatness in the coming years. With that reserve of talent, I'd be surprised if they didn't manage to win something in the coming years.

I was watching too - looks nothing like hockey, because hockey players don't fall down and flop all over the ice at the slightest touch...

The only goal they gave up was against us (Canada). Pretty amazing how they have kept the ball out of the goal...

Flopping has largely been eradicated this tournament. The practice of carding those that take dives has been a nice change the last few years.

I don't really follow the sport regularly, so if this is what "eradicated" looks like, well it must have been even more ridiculous previously.

And that it was 😉 , it has improved remarkably.

Funny as watched a few classic matches in between the two games some nights and there was non of it in the 80s-90s

France - Argentina final is now set for Sunday!! Someone will get its third star on the jersey… and I sure hope it will be France! 😉

The Atlas Lions were a very worthy opponent for les Bleus and I will be rooting for them to secure the third spot on Saturday!! 👍
