This may be off topic foo2 but what Omega is in your profile picture? Also sounds like fun I would love to race on a track some day!
Pm sent. It's a 3313 planet ocean Chrono.

I'm not racing the track on this trip. Just up for the show. I've got a few hundred laps at Laguna Seca and I'll tell you the corkscrew still makes me pucker every time I approach it. I've gone off there 1 time and turn1 one time. I've got no idea how guys on motorcycles can do that turn, on the flip side they have no idea how car guys do it. It's I think a 3 or 4 story drop all in all with nasty camber changes.

I'm taking a 57 MGA up to Monterey from Los Angelas for the vintage races. 7 hours in an A will be interesting. It does have a B series motor though.

Sounds like an awesome Trip! Does your's also starts baking it's drivers from the transmission Tunnel After a while? How much Output on the B Engine? Mine got it's Engine redone a few years ago, slightly higher Compression and upgraded internals. Putting out around 75hp now. Nothing that will take you anywhere fast But quick enough for a an MGA.

I'm assuming it will be a "warm" trip due to the aforementioned issue lol. It's not my ride and I'm just a passenger but it's a well maintained stock B motor so it will be similar.

Two come to mind: my grandfather's last car, and my dad's first one. My grandfather had a 1959 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz convertible, fire engine red, with white leather upholstery and whitewalls. I'll never forget the monster tail fins! When he died in 1972, my grandmother sold it for a song. Tragic.

My dad's first car was a 1961 Mercedes 190d Ponton, which he drove for years. It was navy blue, with dark red upholstery, and it seemed gigantic to me. The first car I have clear memories of ... I wish I had one like it today.

Porsche aside, for me it would be "Eleanor", 1967 Mustang GT 500

After having kids my Mustang was spending too much time in the garage so I sold it.

I'd like to pick up a Triumph TR6 some day.

Ahh Laguna, lovely track. I took a 2 day motorcycle course there 2 years ago. 1st time I went into the corkscrew I had no idea what the hell was going on and where I was going. It is a 5.5 story drop equivalent (59-foot drop over 450 feet of track) That was insane. As for how bikes do it, it's all about the trees actually 😉
There is a s specific tree that a lot of riders use to get their baring. There is also a white board with balck dot in the middle between 2 trees that others use as well. Those are their reference pointers. I had hell of a time trying to figure it out, and then I was told about those 2, next time around I found it, and man it made huge difference. It still scared the crap out of me as it seem that I am turning and going straight into dirt, but suddenly road just appears underneath you and off you go.

There were some amazing AMA and MotoGP races on that track, and some great battles between top riders. It is too bad MotoGP and AMA dropped it from schedule, but good to see WSBK using it. When I was there a lot of locals were saying track may get shut down and destroyed due to more and more noise complaints from all the new residential areas being built around it. It would be a huge loss of an iconic track.

Anyways, back on topic of dream cars 😀

Oh man what'd you do that for?
That picture and background, I can see McQueen looking back
to see if the motorcycle guy is ok.
What was under the hood of yours?

Amazing cars in this thread. The following two, in the exact same colour scheme (pics borrowed from the net) are my favs because I once owned them and I still miss them. The classic BMW 2002 with its free reving 2.0 L 4 cylinder engine and all of its glorious 113 bhp! Handled like on rails even if it was a little tail happy!

My absolute favourites are the DB5 (already posted)...and...I can't believe nobody has the mid year Corvette on their list, notably the 1963 split window! My goodness. I would give a kidney and my Seiko for one of these!
