Me and my grandpa are working to fix up his 1963 Corvette Stingray original paint maroon. From my grandpa I have disliked to hated most modern cars(I do like modern Porsche 911s) So I have been saving up and my grandpa is in I am planned for my first car to be a 1961-1969 Chevy Corvair Monza 900. I love 50s-1972 Chevys and Porsches 1950-1987 Roadsters, 911ts, turbo, and a few more. 50s to 1971 almost always white walls cherry red. After my long list what are your favorite older cars?
I will admit to being biased towards 1987 911s for some reason... But I would not kick an early '70s 911 out of bed.
My Dad was a big Chevy guy. I fell in love with the GTO in high school. Picked mine up in 1978 with 40K miles on her and not a nick on the body. The only car I have ever regretted selling.
Trouble with the R32 GTR is that Australia became a dumping ground for them in the late 90s and 2000s such that every other 18-21 year old who just got his license had a 500hp+ R32 or Supra and were wrapping them around trees and destroying them. These days its hard to find one that isn't ruined with bad mods or bad accidents. They even passed laws in the late 2000s to stop it as the Japanese unloading their modded tuner cars on us (we being the only close RHD country that didn't block those imports) was just killing too many kids. Its a scary thing a teenager with a $10k car quicker than a 911 Turbo on bald tires.
My all time favourite 6 series have already been mentioned. I would also love to have one of the 3.0 CSLs
Good call on the CSL Linzer - I was lucky enough to be a young man working for BMW when they were launched. But my all time favourite is a little smaller, much less ostentatious, but an absolute gem: Alfa Romeo Giulietta SZ:
Not exotic or rare. Launched in 1988 and imho, just about the best looking affordable car of the last 30 years! I had one (now long gone). *edit* My dear departed
Late 80's 911's. Would love to find a Birthyear '88 one. That said If I could afford it, and If one takes a look at the appreciation of older 911's this day might not come in the near future.
Porsche aside, for me it would be "Eleanor", 1967 Mustang GT 500 http://m.ebay.com/itm/152201006015Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
