I'm surprised there have been concerning comments about the ETA movement. Worst case, you have a decent 5-year warranty and a movement lots of places can service just in case.

There's another thread here with details. It has to do with greater difficulty of getting the movement serviced...

From the other thread:
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it has what is basically an non-serviceable Dubois-Depraz chronograph module, correct? The watch does look very nice.

My Speedy Reduced has the same/similar D-D module, problematic and expensive to service. Currently at Swatch Service Ctr (Montreal) for 3rd repair visit since $1000 service in June.

It's definitely not "non-serviceable" it just requires tools & expertise above and beyond your average corner watchmaker...

Thanks for showing me that, I had no idea

Please don鈥檛 accept the 3 quotes I gave as the full story. I would encourage you to read the whole thread and dig deeper for yourself. For me, that was enough to decide I wouldn鈥檛 go for the chrono, but I suspect the Lander will sit in my watch box before too long...

I think if you're paying that kind of money it's good to know if there are any risks involved. Any issue like that would put me off.

Absolutely agree, I was just surprised since I haven鈥檛 heard of the issues before. They鈥檙e fairly nee releases from September. It鈥檚 their first try at chronographs.

Luckily there's a big warrenty if you ever need it, same as everyone though I wear mine on rotation so it probably doesn't get much wrist time.

I bought this one - my partner told me its a collectable!

Here is a description and some pics. What do you guys think? Sell or hold it?

WORN ON ROTATION WITH 7 OR 8 OTHERS SO ITS NOT HAD THAT MUCH WRIST TIME. THE STAINLESS BRACELET HAS NEVER BEEN WORN BAR SIZING IT, ALL SPARE LINKS AVAILABLE.
THIS WAS A NUMBERED EDITION 124, RUBBER STRAP IS REALLY COMFORTABLE AND ITS A LOVELY BRITISH WATCH WITH A SCREW IN BRASS CROWN FOR WINDING AND TIME ADJ + THE SECOND CROWN MOVES THE BEZEL. VERY NICE LUME. CHECK IT OUT ON THE WEBSITE.
BOUGHT THIS WATCH IN AUGUST LAST YEAR AND IT LOOKS IMMACULATE, THERE IS A TINY SCRATCH BETWEEN THE CROWNS BUT TO BE HONEST YOU DON'T NOTICE IT UNLESS UNDER THE MICROSCOPE. ITS A SUPERFICIAL NAIL CATCH FROM WINDING I RECKON BECAUSE YOU COULDN'TSCRATCH IT THERE. THE REST OF THE CASE IS SPOT ON.
IT HAS A DISPLAY CASEBACK WITH STICKER STILL ATTACHED AND A COOL LOOKING ROTOR.
5 YEARS WARRANTY ON FARER WATCHES SO PLENTY LEFT ON THAT.

My Lander GMT. Not a fan of leather straps, went for the Milanese mesh. #555.

Gotta add to the Farer lovefest.

God I love the Lander. Great idea with the milanese. Able to post some more photos of it?? My eyes are on the Lander Chronograph now too to add to the collection.

As you requested!

An appearance on the wrist. . .

Along with my "lucky" pocket coin... a 2-ounce silver ducat.

Not the greatest with a phone camera, but there ya go!

Still loving the Lander after almost two years. The dial is mesmerizing.

Indeed it is.

Looks like you need to set that 24 hour clock though. Pretty bright there for 4 a.m. !!

It's a GMT so it's usually set for another timezone location in another part of the world - mine is set for Portugal where most of my family resides while I'm in the states.
