Read the description . Carefully. This is my listing. We serviced plenty of RAN issued Compressor case Droz's in the 1990's. This here is the original Droz Military high gloss black Dial and movement, as correctly described in my auction. Nowhere is a mention, that this EPSA cased watch is an issued RAN watch. Can't be , because of the World cities inner bezel. 2 watches were bought by that Watchmaker in an Government auction with plenty of other military parts in Sydney in the 90's. So, read again, take your time and change your title.

I think the title and the description are a bit unclear and therefore could be misleading. I’m sure not intentional.

I have understood this to be a civilian piece, however, I can see how someone may misinterpret this highlighted line:

As someone who regularly reads Achim's posts, I will say that he has many fine qualities, but sentence structure, capitalization, and punctuation are not among them. 😁

I am also an Achim fan! So much great knowledge and many contributions! No shade meant to be thrown on my part.

Point Taken. Description changed. I guess, that happens when I assume, that every reader has the same knowledge, like i have about certain Military Issued Watches..... And English is not my first language. What i would really wish for is that the use of " FAKE " would be used sparingly and not for everything, somebody does not know. Even the use of " Franken " ( which is a nice geographical part of Germany with many small and excellent Breweries ) or " Frankenstein " is often used in the Watch World to disguise Non Knowledge or the lack of Research .

On the contrary , the initial ebay listing purports to be a "issued to the Royal Australian Navy " which is never was . Furthermore, the constant alluding to PH ( mik watchnaker) would prob have him turning in his grave .
Nothing to do with a lack of peoples military knowledge oe what is a frankenstein or a fake .
. It's up to the seller to list is accurately , ie "a parts watch made up of a later technos epsa cushion case compressor fitted with an earlier Droz dial possibly military issued."
Happy to provide you previous examples as this is not a one off . Its just the first to be called out by someone who may know a thing or two about relatively obscure Aust issued Military watches . Mark

Anyone remotely interested in RAN Droz divers would IMMEDIATELY recognise that this watch was never an RAN issued item simply from the pictures provided and that with careful reading, allowing for language/punctuation barriers, it is what it is.

Both people concerned are members here. A simple PM could have clarified any questions.

Cheers
Jim (RAN - 1964/1969)

I think the title of the eBay listing is clear that it is only a military dial, with the semi colon after the description of the dial including the term RAN. YMMV, obviously.
