Fair price for Constellation

I'm looking to list my Constellation locally in Canada and am not sure what a fair asking price is. It's a Constellation 14393, gold capped and running well. I've been looking on eBay and chrono24 to compare and am seeing prices from $300 all the way up to $2500. I'd like to make sure that when selling this both seller and buyer are getting a fair deal. Any help?
Thanks folks.

Best way is to look on WatchRecon for sold watches of the same reference. Do the same on other platforms, i.e: eBay. Also important to compare condition, of course.

If the inside is as clean as the outside and the movement is serviced, I'd pay something around US $1,500 - 1,800.

Have you looked at asking prices on the OF Private Sales Forum?

I think that price range is optimistic for a plated watch that has seen so much polishing. But if you are willing to pay it that is great (for the OP).
Here's my previous 14.381 for comparison.
Much better case condition at a reasonable price. Definitely a couple notches case-wise above the OP's example.

I wouldn't say you're wrong, while we are surely not that much apart on this topic, but I'm getting tired to defend myself every time I try to contribute in a constructive way.

Interesting, you didn't feel it to be important to name a price yourself, while this was all about.

I appreciate all the comments so far. I have tried searching on here but have not seen any sold that are the same model.

It doesn't need to be exactly the same model, valuation is more nuanced than that. Look at many different models and seek to understand the market as a whole. Focus on the features that collectively define value - gold-capped case, dome dial, dog-leg lugs, etc. Understand how the different features, and condition, contribute to valuation. Then you will know how much to pay.

You really need to not be so defensive.

Sorry, should have added I would want to see photos of the movement first. But I can see enough from the outside to know USD $1,000 is probably more realistic, and maybe on the high side.

Hi @avidmark
You have a very nice watch with a lovely clean dial but it is gold-capped, a bit polished and has a replacement crown that doesn’t quite match the case.
At auction your watch might bring £600-£800 (all in)
A private sale or EBay might bring £1000 and I think that would be a good result for you.
Hope that helps.

@ConElPueblo ’s example was in fantastic condition, all original, had a cross hair dial and came with box and papers and so deserved the premium asked.

Thank you. I'm not looking to milk anyone, Im just looking to know what a fair asking price is for this piece and your comment helps. I will be listing it in my local watch group only at this time and want to make sure neither myself of the buyer gets hosed.

$1100+$200 (correct crown replacement)+$300 service.

Depending on where they are. I can't get competent service for less than $500 around here, and it's sometimes more.
