That’s good news for Russell as the only back pain he will experience now is from carrying the team on his back.

We've got our hands on TD039 & tell you all the details. New porpoising limits will be set before FP3. If a team can't supply a setup deemed to be safe, they have to raise ride by 10mm. Cars will be disqualified. if still above the limits.

I don’t think this is the solution that Mercedes was expecting from their protest. 😁

Joking aside, this seems like a very fair way to handle the porpoising issue. It’s fair across all the teams and doesn’t require a technical update to the car design.

I hope their intervention is limited. Some manufacturers got it right and some didn't *cough Mercedes cough*. Would be a shame to see FIA mess with the car characteristics to shuffle the order around.

I wonder if the threat of SLH leaving Mercedes and F1 prompted this intervention?

Drivers need to be safe but there is also an onus on the teams to amend the design of their cars to keep the drivers safe. I believe that some teams, Red Bull, Alfa, to name two, have no issue with this problem, I also heard that there is a solution and that is to raise the ride height, but that is not what the teams with the problem want to do as it will slow their car.

FIA will now come to the rescue of affected teams and ban the teams who got it right 😁

Ooh, hadn’t seen that, will the teams want this solution, I think not.
I think Mclaren will be pretty happy with it, probably Alpine too lol.

The first run on sentence explains what will happen. The teams will be required to make adjustments, the rules will not change.

Following the eighth round of this year’s FIA Formula One World Championship, during which the phenomenon of aerodynamic oscillations (“porpoising”) of the new generation of Formula 1 cars, and the effect of this during and after the race on the physical condition of the drivers was once again visible, the FIA, as the governing body of the sport, has decided that, in the interests of the safety, it is necessary to intervene to require that the teams make the necessary adjustments to reduce or to eliminate this phenomenon.

I love Red Bull’s reply to F1 investigating the porpoising, which doesn’t really affect their car - they are obviously happy with the way things are.

Reminds me of Max last year at Spa, when he said that the rain and weather conditions weren’t too bad (which of course they weren’t for him as he was leading the pack and had no spray) 🙄

Seb’s Canadian GP helmet

Some people just can't leave politics out of their job. Just drive, Seb. I guess he just doesn't see the irony of advertising Saudi Aramco along with his climate justice message.

I was going through some old photos today and these two cards were among them. I wonder what kind of watch that is?

If I had to venture a guess, I'd say Omega Speedmaster Rattrapante Chronometer.

Alonsooooooooooooooooo!
He’s still an absolute beast, I don’t see him going anywhere any time soon when he’s still that good.
