Well, Bottas's championship is over
Yep, the WDC and WCC are basically done. Now it’s just waiting to see if Mercedes can go undefeated and if Lewis can break Schumacher’s record.

Yeah this year is Merc's chance for the perfect season. They got away with murder today!

If the FIA could work on spreading the madness across the whole race rather than the last 2 laps that would be super duper.

Water sprinklers on some corners?

But depending on what Pirelli say and if they don't bring different tyres next Sunday's race will be a multi-stopper and they are often fun.

I thought the announcers already said next week will have softer compounds and weather is expected to be hotter.

If today's failures are due to damage from debris on the track then that will be the case. If it's a tyre, or tyre plus kerbing, problem as in 2013, then I think there will be a lot of pressure to bring harder tyres not softer.

Given the shape of the tyres when they failed and the fact that it was each time the front left, at 3 different corners of the track... I am pretty sure the tyres were just dead.

Very unlikely that all three front left failures were from debris. Also, debris puncture almost always result in rear tire failure.

Completely agree, also Lewis stated afterwards that he could see the tyre was losing pressure on the straights, prior to it giving up completely. That’s unlikely to be caused by debris.

Nevertheless, hot weather plus softer tyre compounds should make for a better race next week. And I don’t really see why Pirelli would be pressured into changing the plans: They give out a certain amount of laps every compound should last. If the teams wanna go longer that’s their decision, their risk - and if I remember correctly that was also the issue in Silverstone a couple of years ago.

There is only one team that can (almost) beat Mercedes and that is .... Pirelli 😀

It likely won't get reviewed again. It has been deemed legal. Other teams have the ability to create it themselves, though that to would be unlikely given the cost to do so and how short it's life will be (short season).

Mercedes clearly has an advantage with DAS by keeping their tires warm during say a safety car. That advantage extends immediately following the end of a safety car with their ability have peak grip... But again, since it's legal and the other teams can create it if they wanted, it's unlikely it will be reviewed again.

They should just do away with all tire temp sensors and no more team guidance on that front. Let the drivers figure it out on their own with talent and feel.

Not necessarily from the FIA, but from Mercedes or Pirelli.
