Hi all- I recently had two gorgeous custom straps made- one for my 1956 Omega Seamaster and one for my 1963 Rolex Air King. They are stunning to look at and incredibly comfortable to wear. Made by:

Wonderful product and service. A gem to work with.

Here are a few pics (and yes that's an Omega deployant clasp on my Rolex!)

Nice free advert. Please wipe your shoes the next time you drop by. Enjoy the lemonade, sorry my ice machine was broken.

Hey, I thought there would be no ad's if we joined?
Just kidding, beautiful straps.
The OP was obviously booted from the rolex forum for that deployant misstep.

Welcome to the forum!

I have no idea what that is supposed to mean. It wasn't an ad. Just sharing some new goodies.

Yup, been around for over 6 months and your first interaction with the forum is basically an advertisement...

Nothing that would make anyone draw any conclusions at all.

How about-
"Wow thank you for the tip. Nice straps. Now I know where to get one made like that."

It was not an ad, it was a TIP. As in, "I just got some cool stuff made and maybe others would want to know where to get something similar."

I honestly can't believe that with all the crap going on in the world, any of you are focusing on being negative to someone who is just trying to be helpful. Nice way to make someone feel welcome.

well you’d be surprised how often it happens…

feeling stuck up about it doesn’t exactly help your case.

nor the fact it appeared you have little interaction at all and don’t know it happens all the time.

look at it from established members points of view.

I'm not being stuck up. I'm being frustrated that I was trying to do something nice and in return just got boatload of negativity.
I apologize if I was unaware of proper decorum. That's just my inexperience. But look at this from a new member's point of view. This doesn't exactly encourage someone to contribute or even return.

Forgive the horde: there are a few too many opportunists and grifters over the years. If you’ve accidented into being remotely interpreted as salesy in an early (much less first) post, it triggers them.

Meanwhile, to be fair, there’s also just 50% of ball-busting going on here, and now’s your time to shine!

Thanks, I appreciate it, and that's absolutely fair. But some of this is just plain mean.

Y'all saw that I am new to this. Maybe a little forgiveness or friendly education like "Nice straps, but FYI your post does seem like an ad and that's not really the best idea here."

Instead I get "Please wipe your shoes the next time you drop by."

Who has time for that?!

Just a thought, how about contributing to the forum with some interaction and posting your cool watches and when a member states, "hey!! cool straps.....who makes them and where can I see more?" you can then wax poetic about your straps.

A good thing to know when entering a large gathering of people and waving your goods in their faces without any since of restraint.

I appreciate the tip, they look like nice straps. How's the pricing?

I like the look but I’d the padding thick?

hard to gather tone via forum posts, in both directions

for anyone that sticks around, and posts pictures of watches, all will be forgotten

welcome!

Thanks all. I appreciate your help and guidance. Most of you anyway 😉
Padding is a bit thick but I asked for it that way. Both of them are actually very comfortable. Pricing is not a bargain. But I hesitate to post specifics lest that be confused with "waving it in your faces"!

First, welcome.

Second, those really are nice looking straps. I looked at the site and like the quality. Not the cheapest but seems reasonable.

Last thing, think of this site as an ongoing party that you just walked into the middle of. You're not only welcome, but we're glad you're here. To prove it, we're going to treat you the same crappy way we treat each other. 😁 Also, if you first walk in the room and offer to buy everyone a round, you'll likely be received better than if you walk in and challenge people to arm wrestle.

Edit: Forgot to say I love that Seamaster!

Makes sense. Thanks again for the welcoming words and guidance!
