Exquisite custom straps!

First, welcome.

Second, those really are nice looking straps. I looked at the site and like the quality. Not the cheapest but seems reasonable.

Last thing, think of this site as an ongoing party that you just walked into the middle of. You're not only welcome, but we're glad you're here. To prove it, we're going to treat you the same crappy way we treat each other. 😁 Also, if you first walk in the room and offer to buy everyone a round, you'll likely be received better than if you walk in and challenge people to arm wrestle.

Edit: Forgot to say I love that Seamaster!

Oh and thanks on the Seamaster! My first one. I'm pretty sure it's a repaint but I do love it!

Instead I get "Please wipe your shoes the next time you drop by."

Who has time for that?!

Nice straps, with Covid lockdowns and crappy postal services, straps are the one thing that has me at a loss with securing them in a reasonable timeframe so I really appreciate seeing the diversity of suppliers and the quality of their wares.
Welcome and that to me was a mighty fine first post.
I can see where some of the members get a bit hot under the collar at times but this time was just unfortunately in error.

Look forward to seeing more posts and more watches! and of course active dialog through out the forum, there is just so much here to get involved with.

Welcome and remember the inscription above the gate:

“The inmates run this asylum”.

Just don’t run away crying and I’m pretty sure you’ll do fine.

Welcome aboard, nice watches. And hey, you're already up to nine posts and you only just started!
Happy to endorse David Richards btw (need to dip into my savings account though...)

The straps look stiff, generic and a bit cheap to me. Maybe they are better in person.

My Dad was a fence post philosopher and the reference to boots and wiping was equivalent to him saying to me and my brother, "uncouth behavior will not be tolerated" its' closest cousin was, "you weren't born in a barn".

Now, being an Marine Air Corps crewman in the South Pacific, he had a slightly more direct way of conveying his desires for me and my brother to become more civilized in nature. His directness was always followed with, "excuse my French". Those French in the South Pacific were quite good at teaching their Mother Tongue in a relative short amount of time Dad had away from the War.

Now, Mom was a bit more delicate, and rather than posting what I posted above(waving in our faces), I should have been more comforting and stated one of her favorite expressions, " you can catch more flys with honey than vinegar". It took me and my brother a few years of hearing this to finally catch on.

Before the light flickered on, I would always look at my brother and say, "I really don't want ANY flys!"

Being a bit more like Mom would have been the better pathway.

Okay, fair enough. But Dan, not to be argumentative, just genuinely intrigued because I don’t see them this way. Can you share pictures of straps that you like better?

Seriously, not trying to stir up a pissing contest. These straps do look a bit stiff but that seems due to their being new and a bit thicker. But the leather looks nicely finished.

We can never have too many strap threads. 😀

I mean there's nothing obviously wrong with them, but they look like any off-the-shelf Hadley Roma strap. Not something I would think to buy from a custom strap maker. As I mentioned, maybe they are nicer in person, but who knows ... the OP has no history on the forum. It just seems weird to start a thread about them. There are a few strap makers I like, and I think I've posted links in the past.

Got to agree with that!
Myself I have had a growing yearning to get deployment buckles onto leather straps as buckled straps to me are a scary thing in that it's just too easy for a watch to slip from your grasp when putting it on and taking it off, this has led me to prefer SS bracelets which is a shame as some leather straps can look a million dollars and would benefit with a more secure fastening method.

The OP did label them "exquisite" so granted, that set a pretty high bar.

As far as new threads go, maybe new posters are excited about talking watches. He had some nice vintage pieces and called out the Seamaster as a redial. He/she has potential 😉.

Me, when I first joined i picked a fight with Archer and Eugene! 🤦 I still can't believe it...

It's a watch strap. Not a cure for cancer or a new hyperspace warp drive.

To me they are indeed exquisite and far from generic. Black shell cordovan with a green goat lining is hardly commonplace. But if you find them "off the shelf" and generic, so be it. We are all entitled to our opinions. It's not my goal to change yours.

The Rolex air king is almost good enough to have sex with

It is! Thanks! In all honesty I'd been searching for a Tudor "Tuxedo" with Arabic 3/6/9, but when I saw the '63 Air King I knew my search was over. (at least for now lol)
