New watch on the way [No. 2 this year].
Can anyone point me to a post giving good reasons [lies] to tell my wife.
4th grandfather died last time.

One would assume you already used up your allotment of "I've had this for awhile; or I don't remember when I got this one."

Change wife at the same time as new watches arrives...

Alternatively, if/when she notices the new watch, be offended she has never noticed it despite you owning it for months... Then stop short any conversation, and leave the room!

More expensive option is to buy a gift the day the watch arrives to diverse her attention
