Going to read this now, but just a quick heads-up on the by line. That reads off to me, and doesn't make grammatical sense. Just fyi

Just wondering if manned instead human space missions was a last minute change by Omega?

Great article, RJ!
One thing: The caseback on the Omega website says 'manned space missions'.

@Robert-Jan

I’d make one small correction. The last 861’s got the 18th jewel and where marked 17 jewels, the final ones where marked 18, before the change to the new finish and name 1861. It’s old bad info that it was a change between 861/1861.

fyi ??? Well I understood it.😕 Where as this modern insistence on abbreviation could lead to all manner of misunderstanding.

I have a friend, who lives in the USA. She can't put a sentence together without throwing in a few acronyms. I said to her "For fakks sake! If your too busy to say whole words, I can always call back when you have more time." 😁

Looks pretty good. Price increase about 25% 🙁 No on-the-fly micro adjustment on the clasp 🙁 Milky ring on sapphire still clearly visible. I hope the new bracelet will work with Snoopy 3 😀

IDK about your POV. But IMHO the text is N/A: "with a new movement upgrade in roughly 25 years.(sic)" Seriously, WTF?

“Flight Qualified by NASA in 1965 for all manned space missions”. By adding "in 1965" Omega can get away with using that non-woke word "manned" in 2021 because it refers to an event 55 years ago.

Yeah, that's what you get when Omega doesn't send out stuff under embargo. There's time pressure. ;-) The final editing was done much later on... Now it is fixed.

True, I will fix that.

Well Alex, prescribed speech seems to be very popular these days mate. @Wryfox has tied this one down nice and tight with "personed"

Without a doubt, women (and the odd dog) made significant, important, contributions to space exploration. The fact is though, back then, the people jumping about on the moon were blokes!😀

I like everything but the Speedmaster Professional text being the same size, it just looks a bit odd to my eye. Prob will get used to it over time though.

Hell I might just actually buy one someday, if I decide that it would work in a collection alongside my 105.012.

Can't wait to see live shots soon!

Just wanted to add again that it is a real disappointment that they did not upgrade to a ceramic bezel. Otherwise, love it.
