Dear Omega connaisseurs, Any advice on the condition and authenticity of this Ed White is greatly appreciated. The pictures are from a local seller who's asking 7500€/8100$. Many thanks to all who can help me out. My 5 cents, but I´m a total newbie so please contradict me: - BEZEL: DON but in pretty bad condition, especially between 9 and 12. - DIAL: original stepped with close spaced T´s and applied logo. No 'Professional', which is correct. Patina but not evenly smokey. Water damage? Plots show some discoloration. Relume? - HANDS: Non-periodically correct chrono. - MOVEMENT: dirty, rust on outer ring, metal parts and regulator. Screws ok. Original? - CASE AND LUGS: polished but not overly, though more pictures needed. Lugs damaged on backside? No picture of case back´s inside. - PUSHERS AND CROWN: original? I have no clue. Obviously no original bracelet.
Moisture damage on the dial, movement is rough (minute jumper spring is , plating color feels more yellow than rose, ...). Uneven patina (bleaching?) of the bezel? Meh. Poor, and overpriced imho. (may end up costing you 10k once fully sorted out with a bracelet, and it won't look better)
This dial is very bad (relumed after water damage?). The case isn't that bad, caseback looks nice, but the crown is wrong. Movement looks clumsy, maybe just the picture. The chrono second hand is far too short. I don't like the bezel. Not worth 7,5k IMO.
Attractive in a certain light but poor condition overall. A nice, carefree wearer at a much lower price but not worth €7500.
This is one of the worst Ed White I have seen. Everything is damaged on this watch, I could not wear it in this condition.
Also, part(s) seem to have been changed/ replaced with wrong part(s). So that is just a quick look. Sure there are other issues as others may’opine ?
Come on... If you scratch the crystal as much as you can to hide the dial it will be a great every day wearer.
