I found this Omega Geneve in a local shop today and I have it on hold till tomorrow when I have to decide whether or not to buy it. I don't have a lot of experience with these so I am asking for opinions, advice, information, valuation, please Owner said he bought it new in 1976 Has a non quick set date box Dial is in nice condition-Redial? Crown is worn and appears to be a replacement-opinions? Case top is gold cap with wear on both sides-some separation of the cap on side opposite crown Case back is steel-nice condition-stamped Waterproof-screw back Crystal looks good-not sure if original but I doubt it Appears to be running-not sure when it was last serviced or if it is keeping good time Steel band is non-Omega and is a throw away I have not yet opened the case-so I have no idea of movement or case #'s-what would be the correct #'s for this watch? Opinions-should I buy and at what price point-or pass? What would be a fair price to pay? If anyone is interested in this watch, I would gladly work out a deal to buy and send to anyone interested Sorry for the hurried IPhone pictures Thanks in advance for your help
What a beater! That's the type of "donor" watch that the guys making up the WatchCo SM300's are after to take the movement (caliber 565) out of.
