This is the ‘sapphire sandwich’ display caseback Speedmaster; this model has a 1863 movement which has an extra jewel.

This is not a sapphire sandwich. I think youre confusing the last image which has the caseback taken off.

Doh, you’re right, it’s been a long day. Potentially a franken then... I don’t know...

The case back on omegawatches.com looks the same as this case back.
What do you mean with "known swiss fake serial"? Where this serial has been confirmed as fake?

Took me a while to understand what was going on. I think I got it now.

Personally I see nothing wrong with the speedmaster in the first link. The 1861 in the new watches are supposed to have 18 jewels. The 2nd movement photo you posted is an 861, not 1861. Not sure what you mean by non raised logo case back, but from the pictures it looks correct. If it’s fake, I’d certainly be fooled. I’m happy to be proven wrong

Omega were putting the eighteenth jewel in the 861 movement long before they swapped to the 1861.
To put it politely, you need to educate yourself a bit more before calling out fakes.

And ironically, the 861 shown has 18 jewels.

Serial number on case looks strange. Almost looks photoshopped. My eyes are not trained, but looks funny

Serial is fine... problem is it's clearly Photoshopped to hell so the caseback seahorse looks laser etched. Someone clearly doesn't know how to use the Curves feature correctly.

Here's a pic stolen from Kringkily showing the same serial setup

Adam wouldn't sell a fake Speedmaster. "He knows a thing or two" (is an expert) ... and wouldn't post something for sale that he doesn't stand behind. I don't see a thing wrong with the watch.

The 18th jewel was put on all 861 related movements around 1989, and was finally marked as such in the early 90's, Delrin brake is not exactly stramge, and the color is correct...

I do not see what you are going on about?

I will chime in with others and suggest you really need to be cautious calling out something as fake when you don't appear to have the knowledge to do so. No idea what "known Swiss fake serial" means, but I've checked the serial number on his watch:

Serial number: 78811484
Article ref: 31130423001005

It appears to be a perfectly legitimate Speedmaster, complete with a perfectly normal 18 jewel Cal. 1861.

You might have been trying to help, but it appears you have just labelled a legit watch as fake, so please be a bit more careful next time.

Cheers, Al
