Dynamic between the tension ring, the glass and the case

Hi everyone. Hope everyone is safe.

Maybe a few will consider this really an overpreoccupied matter. It is really one of the things only the person who is wearing the watch will see.

So, my beloved 2846 actually runs pretty fantastic now after it's service (will shortly update an old post about it) and looks also very clean after a polywatch treatment I gave it last night.

But if you look closely on an angle between the glass, SS case, and tension ring, a layer of either dust, or rust is there to be seen. It cannot be seen from any other angle. If you look at the watch upfront it is really invisible.

Can anybody tell if that can be cleaned or wiped? Maybe I can ask this my WM next time I visit, but I keep learning a lot from other more experienced OF members so I decided to post a thread about it. It does not bother me much, and I still enjoy wearing the heck of it 🥰, but wanted to ask!

Thank you in advance guys, for your time. 😀

Cheers from Germany,

Rudi

Yes, once the movement is out of the case, the crystal is removed, and then the surface can be cleaned.

Any possibility this is an accumulation of material from under the bezel? If so, his WM can remove the bezel and clean up the area before reinstalling or as part of a crystal replacement as Archer indicates.
