Hi All,

I don’t usually have the opportunity to post much but recently this Australian jewellers marked T17 landed and thought I would share the find. I hadn’t run across a Drummond Jewellers (Melbourne) marked Omega before and was wondering if any forum members have?

Cheers,

Konrad

I haven't seen one before (Omega that is).
Have seen a few Drummond labelled pocket watches.

The Drummond joins my Birks Omega from the same era and an earlier Omega retailed by Proud’s in Sydney..

Anyone got a spare sweep seconds hand 🤣🤣🤣

That is very cool indeed, you don't see those looking that clean very often

I also had no idea Prouds had been around that long, cool to see as an Aussie

I have an Angus and Coote signed dial for their own brand watch. Looks 60’s. Also my grandmothers Tudor is double signed Angus and Coote. I have it stored away for my daughter when she grows up.

Drummonds and Co. started off as Brush & Drummond in Collins Street Melbourne in 1873 making and selling fine jewellery and silverware and are arguably the first Australian importer of jewellery from Tiffany & Co. for retail.
Drummond & Co. are famous for making the trophys for the Melbourne Cup horse race from 1919 to 1970 and also made jewellery for Queen Elizabeth II.
I looked into them a bit when I first got the watch because I had no idea what the Drummond stamp was.

Interesting, I didn't realise they went that far back. I knew more recently it was Hardy Brothers handling the Melbourne Cup and that they had some co-signed watches too but Drummond must have had less of a footprint in Queensland
