Hello Omega Forum,

I’ve got a 1960’s Omega (cal 565) that I would like to get serviced. This is my first vintage watch service so I have no idea who in Melbourne to send my watch to.

I did a forum search and the most recent thread on this topic mentioned Rory Macdonald, is he the only person worth taking vintage watches to in Melbourne?

Any help appreciated.

Sam

Look at Lewis Watch Co. You would send the watch to him but he’s great and a specialist in vintage

Thanks for the recommendation @jaegodylan. I've heard good things about Lewis, however, I'd prefer not having to send my watch interstate.

Would highly recommend chris soto in sydney, independent, have gotten vintage watches serviced with him for many years. I just mailed from melbourne to him.

In melbourne, there's a guy i've gone to also a few times, who is a certified official watchmaker for a few major brands, including cartier and some others. really good service:

Can thoroughly recommend Rory. He’s excellent, in my experience at least. And a decent bloke with it.

I forgot about Rory. I checked him a couple of years ago but he was snowed under with work so I ended up doing the work myself.

Give him a try Sam, he may have a spot or give you an idea of the wait time.
