Double standard?

Why is it that whenever the 300M Pro is discussed, there’s a lot of criticism raised towards the 10’oclock crown (HEV)? But on the other hand, the AP diver has the same crown positioning but is rarely criticized for it’s styling? The AP’s crown is used to move the bezel so it doesn’t even make sense to have it there for a lefty yet the watch is usually drooled upon by the masses. I think it’s the sheep mentality but feel free to chime in

In my head it's more about the necessity for a manually operated valve/crown rather than a flush valve than it is about the design aesthetic of a crown in that position. Even though I don't always love it, on two occasions it hasn't stopped me.

have fun

Who are the "masses" drooling over this AP?

This is the first time that I've seen it, and it's ugly as sin.

If you like your watch, what difference does it make if a few others criticize the HEV? You have a great watch.

Lol I’ve seen all the hype on YouTube watch dealer channels, the same ones that hate on the Seamasters side crown

I guess seller can make more profit from APROO than seamaster, or sort of a bigger stake holder. So they got to "pitch" everything on AP has to be lovely even if that is not lovely.

Why? because people who make too much money and don't share it need some nonsense to argue about.

So, not the masses, just some dickheads with YouTube accounts.

You are aware that you can ignore them?

For future reference, the cognoscenti judge the vintage Zenith Super Sub-Sea models (A3635 and A3736), and their Movado twins, to be the only acceptable watches to employ the crown at 10 design. 😁

No, this is the only watch qualified to have Crown at 10 !
(some experts said this watch was actually manufactured somewhere else outside of Switzerland)
= disclaimer: this reply is meant to just defuse some tension, not a serious message =

"masses" was an intentional exaggeration, regardless this AP is fetching almost double over retail and I'm surprised some haven't seen or heard of it before. I've always thought the crown on the Seamaster held the watch back but it definitely hasn't had an impact on AP's hype machine

Don't get me wrong, this isn't a "you know what really grinds my gears" thread. I don't give a rat's ass in the end of the day. It's just a discussion and not a matter of ignoring it or whatever

Beauty. I think having a cutout in the case for the crown makes it much nicer

Despite what the instagram/blogger/youtube community might have you believe, we are all able to enjoy different things.

A lot of people really like the Seamaster 300 professional. Wart and all.

The people that really like AP steel sports models, are typically the ones who are selling them. Or the ones trying to look cool by buying them (often on finance).

If you're seeing lots of hype for a watch that you think is nonsense, I can only suggest you change what you're listening to watching, and reading... because you appear to be stuck in a bubble.
