"18k Gold Omega Seamaster. Automatic. Cal 552.Chronometer. C.O.S.C. 24 Jewels." Yeah, right. This outrageous fake can be found here: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/18k-Gold-...385710?hash=item2375a1aeee:g:JeQAAOSw4shX8S5G And if anyone was wondering, the 552 movement is not adjusted to five positions.... Does the seller know what an abomination this is? I really couldn't say, but he certainly sells a lot of watches. Draw your own conclusions. Item reported.

Yes thanks exactly, even the spelling on the face is wrong, it's also not in the right context.

This is just nasty. I would list everything that I found wrong, but that would pretty much mean every part of the watch.

This is the same seller as that was selling the ladies watch in my first posting that everyone seemed to think wasn't fake. Good spot and stay clear

It's not a fake, it's just a terrible redial.

Everything on the watch is original Omega (ignoring the buckle).

It is a genuine Omega but it is not a chronometer. It has been doctored - however incompetently - to look like one in order to sell it for a higher price. That's what I call a fake. Whatever one chooses to call it, it's pretty nasty.

Where do you start with this POS? Definitely the wrong movement for a 2577; looks like a 30.10RA PC. Not sure I would have paid for that service. No idea what that case clamp is from. At least the dial designer is creative.
They even drill a hole on the crown side. Watch for Art Purpose.

New member here! 👍 I own a few newer Omegas, but recently have been intrigued by vintage ones...inspired by my 90-year-old grandpa.

I know the thread says no questions, just wondering why so much effort to make fake vintage ones. Seems like there are so many out there.

Yay or nay on this?
What is it about "not for questions" you're not grasping? Post this on the main vintage board and you'll get answers.

I moved his post out and made it into a separate thread.
