How did you tell it's fake..the back case ?
Just seeing the face looks real. ( I'm still learning )
if not what are the telltale signs ?

Do a google image search on "Omega 166.024" for comparison. You will notice a few things about the fake one; The date opening has no white lining around it, the 6 and the 9 are closed, instead of open. All the hour markers have small "stubs" at the end of each marker. In addition to this, the bezel looks off, but more experienced bezel experts would have to chime in to explain. There are also no pin holes on the 12 and 6 marker, however the jury is apparently still out as to wether this is a sure telltale sign or not.

hiwatch99 is back with a new bridge with a 27m serial number on that awful frankenfake Speedmaster 69
It's more than a year he's trying to sell it:

What the hell? The dust cover is glued to a movement spacer? A 27m serial with a delrin brake? fake bezel? Badly damaged step dial missing the "T"s around Swiss Made? Good grief.

Let's all report that typical fake Seamaster 300 sold on ebay by an arrogant crook called Timbrefun from Bend, Oregon:
