I actually found a fake movement/dial from one of these on eBay today.
Wonder if the person who took it apart thought they were going to cash the case in for 18K gold value 🤣.

Edit: The movement isn't even Swiss, it's a French made Lorsa 238.

My neighbour found this in his fathers house after sitting in a drawer for 50 years. I found this monster forum thread; probably same category right? Thanks

You are entirely correct, it's one of those "highway gold" counterfeits.

Yes, it's a bad re-dial and a movement in poor condition, but not a fake, so doesn't belong here.
