Hi all, thanks for coming back to me. It was a late night ebay bid, nothing too luxurious, only a a few £££. Out of interest, what jumped out at you the most?
As above a lot. But the omega on the outside of the caseback is wrong as it should be on the inside of the case back. ( something to keep in mind ) Don't forget I have seen a lot of these (1970s) fake omegas over the years.
Great forum! I've had an offer accepted on this watch which would be my first Omega vintage watch and just wondered if people thought its genuine? It looked ok to my untrained eye but I'm no expert!!! There are no markings on the back panel though, but I wasn't sure whether this is a feature of the era. Thanks so much in advance for your help.
Stumbled across a very old family watch. Trying to confirm if it's a genuine Seamaster before getting it restored. Grateful for any insight this community can offer
Just wanted to bump this thread. I'm assuming the age puts it outside the realm of knowing. If anyone has any recommendations on what type of place I could take it to confirm authenticity, that would be helpful too!

ist a nice looking watch, and since it´s electronic propably not too expensive. But I couldn´t find any model that looked quite like it. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-OME...985360?hash=item2eece5e690:g:QQ4AAOSwAuNW6YBqPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network
In fact I saw it. But what does it mean? English is not my language, but "restored" means recoloring it like when it was new? And my question is, is there a Omega constellation that looked like that when it was new. Or did they completely make it up? most electronic Omegas seem to have a red Omega logo.
It means you couldn't find one that looks like that because someone repainted the dial to look that way.
anybody have an opinion on this? http://www.fathertimeantiques.com/i...2&view=item&id=1032:blank-template&Itemid=141
Am about to buy a Speedmaster Transitional. My first one. It looks genuine. But how can I be sure it actually is?
Welcome...... As a wise man once said......in life if you want a guarantee buy a toaster(tks Clint....The Rookie 1990). In any collectors armory for making a good purchase is his knowledge and advice of others. Feels to me like you're tempted to jump in the deep end. Best of luck if you do..... I held off for a few months while reading discussions here and elsewhere. To be honest I am so glad I did because the first watch I ended up going for was not what I set out initially to find. Good luck with your journey.......M
You can't unless you search Speedmaster on the search function and read ever post on all the threads and then read MWO the book and you will at least stand a chance....
