The model is not hard to come by.
However there are a lot of items like @CanberraOmega pointed out to observe.
Take your time, and run what you look for past the forum members for advice.
I wish I had done that when I started collecting...........

BTW: The reference 166.099 stated by the seller is not correct for that watch.
My best guess is that the watch is put together from parts. In extent not fake but what is referred to as a "franken".

    Hello guys,

I've been trying to figure out if following watch is genuine for hours now, maybe you can help me with your wisdom.

The dial looks so clean, maybe thats me, seller says he thinks its from the 60's and it is inherited by a family member he also thinks the strap is replaced as it seems to new for a watch from the 60's.

    Thanks so much.

Watch is genuine, dial may have been refinished. Would need better photos.

Hi there! I can't get more info on this watch and the seller does not have the pictures of its movement. Is it possible to anyone to reckon the model or the year?
    Thank you!!

Omega, that famous sales company. I'm very concerned about the 4 people who have bid on this POS.

This has been passed down to us by a family member. Possibly 50s/60s. Could you tell us if it's a definite fake? Still works perfectly and the windup is brilliant. Even if it's fake it's lasted a long time!

Hey guys, new to this forum and about to buy my first Speedmaster. I believe it is from the mid-1950s. From the little I know, it looks quite genuine. What do you guys think? Is there anything in particular that you look for to authenticate them? Finally, any guess how much it is worth? Thanks so much!

Speedmaster? This is a Seamaster (TBD), typo? Got any higher res pics of the dial and possibly inside of the caseback?

Haha definitely typo, yes I meant Seamaster. Dope. I don't have any higher res pics of the dial, but I forgot to upload the inside of the caseback. Here it is. Thanks!

If you check sold listings on ebay for Omega 2828, you will see that they range $250 to $450 depending on the condition.
