Can anyone tell me about this watch? Genuine or not, I still love the way it looks.

Have you already purchased this watch? The 286 movement looks to have been assembled from parts of other watches and is filthy. Dial is refinished. I'll let someone else speak to the case and how much gold is left ;).
These are the kind to stay away from. Very shiny on the outside so the seller wants premium and very dirty on the inside so it costs you even more to get it in good working order.
If you already bought it, I hope you didn't pay more than melt + Cal 286 value.

I do not even know if that case ever belonged to an Omega?
18K hallmarks should normally only be seen on the inside of the case.
And the way gold has been removed on the lugs??? ANd reference number/serial whatever on the outside of the case? Never seen before.

This is definitely a "RUN AWAY" watch.

No, I did not buy it. I was a little suspicious of the screws and also the 18k hallmark outside the case lid.
Thank you all for your reviews. So much stuff to learn from this Forum.

Case is typical South American production, gold weight on these is well below US or Swiss cases. Very little collector value even in good condition.

Checked the Omega Watches vintage catalog for this Constellation with caliber number1333 and the movement appears to be ok (I think). I was not able to find information on the caliber 1333 looking at the Ranfft archives. I'm not sure about the observatory on the case though . Any thoughts on this one folks?

Hi, this is a great resource to stop beginners like myself getting scammed! Thank you very much for letting me join :)

I love the look of this watch, however I can't find anything that looks like it on any of the Omega catalogues. I am also dubious because the details just don't look quite right. The hour markers look slightly off with the markers on the casing... would be grateful for any information.

If this does exist as a genuine Omega watch, I'd love to buy a real one!

I've asked this before but why isn't this thread pinned? It seems like a good resource that we can point new members toward when they ask if the Omega with anti-magnetic written on the dial, that they inherited from their uncle, is real.

Looks genuine to me, but in terrible condition. eBay listing doesn't show the insides, which could be
    - genuine and in perfect condition (doubt it)
    - genuine but corroded and rusted (my guess)
    - fake.

Pass on this and keep looking. Have you looked at the for sale forum here?

Thank you CanberraOmega, I will take a look on the for sale forum. I have asked the seller to send me a picture of the inside... thats a shame as I love the shape of this watch. Does anyone know what year this is from or how I would find the same model?

    Many thanks!
