Hi all, I’m a complete novice here. Found an old Omega watch in a clear out. My mother bought it from a charity shop years ago. I’d like to get your opinion on whether it is real or not. I appreciate you might need to see the mechanism to make an informed opinion, but wanted to get check in case you can see things that make it obviously fake!
much appreciated!

Lol! 🤦 I definitely missed that.
HAVE I JUST BEEN NEARLY SCAMMED by 2 sellers ..... re rolex gmt master pepsi ll 2001. i need IS THIS REAL OR FAKE ed help
Don't know if this one has been discussed before, but while sifting a Swiss auction site I came across this one:
https://www.ricardo.ch/de/a/omega-constellation-aut-herren-uhr-18k-1124594112/
Solid 18k gold Constellation (ref. 168.004) with a 565 movement. The seller is up front about it and names the movement in the description, also he never claims that this is "all original" - but a non-chronometer movement in a chronometer watch is a sure sign this is frankened, right? From what I have learned here this should have a 561 or 564 movement.
Also, "freshly oiled" with an amplitude of 205 on the timegrapher? Another alarm bell going off.
Buyer beware. Especially at that price point.
whilst it’s not a fake, it is definitely a frankenwatch.
It’s actually a 168.014 deluxe.
Soft case
Replacement crown.
Movt not only incorrect but itself looks to be made up of different parts.( bridge and rotor)
The pics are very poor but I also have a bit of a concern about the dial.
Unlike most pie pans .004s and.010s are known for having the minute haches hard up against the pie pan edge but this example appears to them hanging over the bottom edge.
If this isn’t crystal distortion this wouldn’t be acceptable on a standard Connie let alone a gold dialled deluxe.
S slwijeNew to the forum...so no authentic Omega watches have writings on the outside of the caseback?
