Yes you're right. I tried looking for a Seamaster dial like that but don't think they made one.
Think the dial is a well made fake.

Can you spot the warning signs of this vintage Omega sold as a 14K gold watch? 2022-05-28 12.33.57.jpg 2022-05-28 12.33.57-1.jpg 2022-05-28 12.35.48.jpg

True, it’s gold filled, not solid gold.

As noted by others, it will not be solid gold unless the original caseback has been lost.

I've never seen a solid gold Omega with a stainless steel caseback.

Unless somebody here has bought it and can provide more pictures we're all just guessing.

Hey! Just won this auction off eBay. No movement pics, requested them, and I'll keep y'all updated. Clearly a fake caseback, and I know Seanasters have the copper-colored movements, but the case and dial look okay. We'll see, but does anyone have any feedback?

Edit 1: hopefully this can be used for educational purposes, not only is the caseback fake but it looks plated with a bad re-plate. Any giveaways elsewhere that could be used to tell on other watches?

    Advertised as follows:

VINTAGE OMEGA DE LUXE SOLID 9CT GOLD MECHANICAL WRISTWATCH
    CIRCA 1947
THIS WRISTWATCH IS IN NEAR MINT CONDITION.
DIAL: THE BLACK CROSS HAIR DIAL IS SIGNED "OMEGA DE LUXE NO. 246" AND THERE IS A SUB DIAL AT THE 6 0'CLOCK POSITION.
CASE: THE SOLID 9CT GOLD CASE WHICH MEASURES APPROX. 34MM DIAMETER INCLUDING CROWN IS IN EXCELLENT CONDITION AND THE CROWN BEARS THE "OMEGA" LOGO.
MOVEMENT: THE MECHANICAL MOVEMENT IS RUNNING STRONGLY AND HAS A CALIBRE 260 MOVEMENT,
THERE IS A NEW TAN LEATHER STRAP FITTED WHICH IS NOT "OMEGA".

I think the only truth in the listing is the leather strap not been Omega ::screwloose::::facepalm2::

I have to presume this one is a fake. It is most similar to a Calatrava of the 30's and 40's. It was opened up and movement was OMEGA engraved and the serial number put it at the 1940's. The dial is seriously suspect - "OMEGA" not even centered on the logo symbol. Plexi crystal, a material which aligns with the military style of the period, was loose. The case is plated brass. The movement is manual wind and appears to keep good time. One jeweler who examined the movement said it appears authentic, but that it may have once been a pocket watch, retrofitted to be a wrist watch. Has anyone else seen a similar watch?

Do you have a photo of the movement?
