Fake "RECREATION" seamaster 120 from a uk power seller: huwllewelyn (1907Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network ) https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Omega-Se...e=STRK:MEBIDX:IT&_trksid=p2060353.m1438.l2649Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network So much bla bla to sell a fake: Before I describe my watch I would like to make it clear that I am not trying to fool anybody or misrepresent anything here. This was taken on as a project by me to develop my watchmaking skills and not to make money or to try and deceive anybody. Purists may turn their noses at such projects (which is fine) -look no further. Questions about the watch from potential purchasers will be most welcome but I am not going to become a discussion forum. Opinions and such like will be ignored. Thank you for your understanding. As I have an interest in vintage watches I came across simply by accident a vendor selling what I would describe as a "kit" which would go a long way into recreating an Omega 120 from the 1960's. I liked the look of the 120 and thought it would be a good idea to buy the kit to develop my skills. The kit described the contents as being either refurbished parts (such as the case), new old stock (dial, hands etc) and an aftermarket bezel (which may explain why it is rather stiff to turn). The case would have been sandblasted I presume with the writing on its surface lasered rather than the original acid etching (the A for instance on the original is flat topped and not "peaked"). I of course needed to source a movement and I purchased a (correct) Omega 601 caliber (which, according to its serial number dates from 1967 -the correct period for the 120). When I had acquired all the parts I'm afraid that I got cold feet. I realised that I did not have the confidence to assemble the watch and I decided to have my watchmaker do the work. It has thus been professionally assembled. He also serviced the movement and put in a new mainspring. As a consequence, the watch is running very well indeed. It comes on a new leather "shark grain" strap. The buckle is signed but it was purchased "aftermarket". The watch also comes with a very handy Omega travel case. Since its assembly, the watch has not been worn (except for photographic purposes).
