Beware Vintage Omega Seamasters with Crosshair and Orange Lume on eBay

Over the last few months these seem to be getting more and more prevalent on eBay U.K.
At first I thought it was the same person selling a single watch and re-listing it every time the buyer realised it was a bag of crap and returned it.

However, there are now multiple listings by multiples sellers (although i think it’s one seller with multiple accounts). These watches have taken the Homers car approach, using redials with black dial bodies, crosshairs, Arabic 3, 9, 12, triangular hour markers, applied logo and rich orange lume. Obviously the seller makes no mention of this in their listing. I asked if the dial was original and the reply was “it looks original but hard to tell with vintage dials”.

Make no mistake, the dials are at best fantasy redials and at worst outright fake and the watches are worth no where near the asking price.

Someone should contact the seller and advise him to change the title to include the name “prototype” on it and to triple the asking price. Also, to refuse PP payments, by the way...

😜

Well spotted and very useful thread for less knowledgeable people than you

cheers

He's selling them since six months and has at least sold 9 of them (if the feedbacks from the buyers are not faked) 😲

Would love to hear from people who bought them and see if they fully understand what they purchased.

Three of these monstrosities have been relisted, again by the same two accounts (as above, two accounts but almost certainly the same seller).

Utter rubbish.

I’m bumping this up as a warning as these utter monstrosities are still being frequently listed on eBay UK.

brought into our repair shop to have a damaged hour hand and acrylic replaced.
It’s a shame . It was a 21st present from the young lads father, and he is pleased with the radium dial!
🤦🏻‍♂️ I will break the bad/sad news to him next week.
