DON Bezel won’t fit

hi at all, my 145.022-69 got a new „old“ bezel. Seems flat and shiny but even my watchdealer can’t motivated the DON bezel to fit. I tried afterwards with my cheap hand press as well and don’t get it ob my watch.
I tried to level the bezel as good as possible and apply a pressure to the press like i would handshake a Man. It seems the Bezel tilt to one side and went nit all the way down to the case.
As per serialnumber 2911... the Don bezel should fit. At the moment a DN90 fit in place (as per Moonwatch only -same diameter and high).
Does anyone could explain this ?
Just more pressure?

Kind regards Martin

I've read here that sometimes it's known that the DON bezel needs some convincing to fit. It's quite normal it seems.
But don't try to ruin the bezel with a cheapo handpress, I suggest you ask your watchmaker to do it!

Let a skilled watchmaker do it for you. It will only take a couple of minutes to make it work - he will know what kind of techniques he can use.

I prefer to send it to a watchmaker but he doesn’t fix it... I wrote now the Omega Service Center, may they could help.

So if you're about to ship it somewhere, from Zurich, get in touch with Romain : https://www.atelier-h13.ch
He will fix it for you in an eye blink.
He speaks english and a federal german 😉

I’ve been having the same problem. When I got the watch, the DON was with the other parts that came with the watch, but not on the watch (original hands, etc). I’ve tried a few times myself without success. Maybe I also need to bring it to a watchmaker, but was hoping I could just change the bezel myself on a whim.

May anyone got another recommendation for a omega vintage watchmaker? May near Basel? Or Zürich?
Specially for Don bezels 😉

Although I have had luck swapping and fitting speedmaster bezels, I do not recommend it if after the first attempt it does not immediately and firmly click into position. ....and recognising that it has in fact clicked into position is a skill that eludes some people.

The bezels often need adjusting, either at the inside of the bezel, (if too tight) or on the case. Both operations are best left to people who do it for a living, as @kov says.

I learned about bezel swapping some years ago while living remote from a watchmaker. So it was do it myself or wait 4 months. Often I had to wait 4 months.

By being strict with myself, that is allowing only one attempt (ok two, maybe three attempts but definitely no more) I have not damaged anything.

Since moving back into civilisation I have not swapped a bezel myself.

Here is an oldie but goldie photo

I see your retirement funds in this photo. Well done bro. Reminds me of casino chips in a Roulette game. 😀

Are you able to spare me a good condition DON at reasonable price? Seriously.

Hey all, i went to Romain, what a nice guy! He opened the shop for me and offered a coffe. We talked a bit about watches and he showed me his watches. Beautiful aged speedies. He measured my watch and the bezel opened the case and inspected the Kaliber. Installed without any problems my DON. In any Omega case i will visit him again!
