I'm going to tick some people off here but, answer me this:

How, in the real world, is a Rolex better than this?

Can't answer that one huh!

'cause its not.

Some people just want to watch the watch world burn.

Love this guy. Love it's cheap Amazon strap I purchased as I needed to add 4 dollars for free shipping to an order. Sure it's got a cracked crystal, sure it's plated, sure the lugs and case are affordably designed. Love its perfect little dial.

Going back a little over 5 years ago.... I had not worn a watch in 15+ years and I decided a wanted to buy myself a "proper" watch. Knowing nothing about watches, I went to the mall to buy a mechanical watch, as I had no interest in a plastic/digital watch. I ended up selling the watch 3+ years ago, but I decided to buy it back, and yesterday it was delivered.

It looks just as good on my wrist today, as it did 5+ years ago. This watch started my passion for watch collecting. And had I never bought this fine "mechanical watch" (yes, I now know it is a quartz, but back then I had did not know what I know now).

It brings me just as much joy as my Speedmasters. Well maybe not as much as my Gemini 4 😉.

This one definitely takes the price hands down. And like @Larry S says I'm sure I'll never sell it.

It's usually the cheap ones that got us here in the first place.

@Syrte - are those hands original to that design? I've seen quite a few of these Cymas over the years and never a common handset between them. This one's mine:

Another inexpensive one (and Bifora remain undervalued even in a hot vintage diver market); full steel case and outstanding lume patina.

I've seen this design with several types of handsets too, but I have no reason to doubt that this one is one of the correct ones (as a matter of fact I have a copy of an ad for it somewhere... )

Don't get me wrong, I wasn't even questioning the originality but rather wondering about which ones were right and how many different handsets were used.
