Hi, I'm new to vintage watches and recently a friend has offered me this, and what I think it's worth! I can't find much at all apart from loads of variations and not one the same. Info would be great thanks.

Not real. Why would a DeVille have a Seamaster caseback? And are Seamaster casebacks ever a press-on type? The answer is no. There's also an obvious reason it doesn't have a serial number.

Although the watch is definitely fake ,
There were Seamaster De Ville models , and the early Seamasters had a snap back case .

Yeh I did read a few had a seamster case back as they were part of the seamster group until they became just the DeVille. I found loads similar but that face threw me off.

Ah yes. The roman numeral for 6 is IA. amazing. (I know it's an upside down V.)
