Does Omega service ensure authenticity

Hi all,

Sorry this may be a silly question.

If a vintage watch has been serviced by Omega. Does this ensure full authenticity. Do they have the same process as rolex, where they will not work on pieces with aftermarket parts.

Understand that you run the risk of service dials/hands

Omega will correct it during the service, but they won't refuse it unless the movement isn't Omega's.

Ok thank you. So if it's back from service from them you can be sure it's not a Franken?

They will ensure that the parts are Omega parts. Determining if it is a franken is a completely different question. A franken can mean that a movement that was for one model of watch could be used in another, so a movement swap was done. That would require an extract of the archives, and Omega doesn't do that on every vintage watch they service.

If you send them a Franken to begin with, I doubt that they will deFrankenize it.
