Really like the Tissot vintage chronographs, good looks and great bang for buck.
Only have one at the moment but there is a Lemania 1281 tucked inside this little ripper.

My first and recent Tissot, on original Gay Freres bracelet from 1969, bought yesterday in Boston

Any ideas how to tell the time using the rotating bezel, much appreciated - currently has me stumped!!

Cheers paul

Not sure if this is the correct use but I set "Paris - Rome" to "24" (I am located in Germany) and then I can see the difference in hours (+/-) to the different cities on the bezel. Then just add or substract the hour difference from the current time in my time zone and I'll get the actual time from the city of interest.

Here is mine - a longer journey as the first one that came in had the wrong movement (Tissot 784-2 for 12h dial). I have noticed this because of the hands speed (around 3h in 60 min). My watchmaker took a look inside and everything was clear … there was the Tissot 788 movement missing which must work under the 24h dial. After short communication the seller (at eBay) took the watch back (he said he didn't recognized that) and gave me the refund - overall a + experience at eBay. It didn't took very long then to get this one - now running as it should! The engraving on the clasp dates it to the 4th quarter of 1969 - maybe this one is very close to my birthday 😀

Tissot has fine heritage and their designs run the gamut of goodness.

I wouldn't hesitate to acquire one if it really spoke to me and the seller was legit...of course the watch would have to be legit too, but you're smart enough to know this.

Had a great conversation with a friend of my brother's at a BBQ last month when he showed up wearing his. We grabbed a beer and examined each other's wrist companion selection. He had never seen a Speedmaster before (in person) and tried it on. Naturally I tried on the Tissot and we both enjoyed it immensely...much to the chagrin of the accompanying women-folk who already have to listen to us talk about such things at home.

Here’s a photo of my only Tissot so far; circa 1951 stainless Antimagnetique. I thought it was pretty cool until I saw all of your show-stoppers.

Yours is still a show stopper in my opinion!

Agree with byunjoe.
You have a nice watch from the 50's with a pretty dial and a stainless steel case which is not so obvious to find.

In the 70's Tissot was highly productive with a lot of attractive design but in the 50's there is also some nice models especially regarding Chrono.

Late to the party. My PR 516 with a Tissot bracelet. May, or may not be original to this watch as the ends are a tad narrow. Not currently on my wrist. I know nothing of the past history of the watch as it was bought by a friend (as my agent) at an estate sale. Came with an identical white dial, but I preferred the steel grey one that I had on another Tissot.Original Tissot logo crown. AFAIK, it had never been serviced, until I serviced it when I bought it. The original owner likely found it quit from grunge, and he didn’t bother to have it serviced! Probably bought a Timex! His loss, my gain.

Absolutely loving this thread. Tissot has so much to offer and the name has such a nice sound to it. Anyways, here‘s my little contribution. 😀
