Bumping this thread with a recent pickup: sharp 35mm steel case with 1940s-era roman numerals 🥰

Tissot Seastar Visodate PR516 24 hour dial, calibre 798, c.1968.

Love Tissot, old & new! In most light the dial looks black, but get it under the sun and can enjoy the radiant marine blue.

Back in the 1960's when Scuba diving as recreation & adventure tourism was a new thing, & Tissot was a pioneer in the Sports / Adventure / Exploration market space with the Seastar alongside the Submariner, Seawolf, and Fifty Fathoms.

Groovy lighting...

Splash of UV to light up the old Tritium lume, something like how it would have looked back in the day.

(Liking the fully lumed seconds hand... 😀

Glad & grateful to have this survivor in the rotation. French Marine Nationale paracord strap.

Have been wearing this Tissot since it came back from the spa, loving the blue dial. Always wanted a Tissot after it’s long-standing connection with Motorsport. Still deciding on whether to go for the repro bezel, the watch has the wrong crown and the second hand is a smidge too short, so I might leave it as is for now…

Seastar cal 783, c.1960. It's had a bit of a rough life & carries the scuffs & scars to prove it. Shined up & running strong now, though 😀

Love the Linen Dial!

My (expected) Xmas present to myself, unless a vintage one becomes available (and if I get my Chronomat 769 back from the spa) ...

I have such a Tissot, cal 20 in more than nice condition with an ebonite box from 1935, which I want to show off

That's a beauty! 🥰 Great box too. Did the watch come with the box?

No, I bought the box later, but I have read that these first ebonite boxes produced in Finland coincide in age with the watch, i.e. around 1935. Does anyone have knowledge about this ?
