路Reminds me of a funny story back a few years ago involving a Vintage Omega with a fella's name engraved on the back. We looked him up and avoided the watch like the plague. Good story for another thread.

A bit late and sorry but here goes...
A few years ago back in Cebu City Philippines, one of our semi-regular contacts used to sell us old watches. He was/is a Filipino-American living stateside but traveled back and forth every few months to visit relatives, and would bring whatever watches he got his hands on in the USA to sell to us. Nice enough guy but was kinda flakey and ran with an unsavory crowd in Cebu. Whatever, we didn't care as for us it was strictly business.
Well one day he texted from USA saying he will be coming soon, and bring watches as usual. So he shows up a week or so later and most of the stuff he had was run of the mill stuff like quartz Tag Heuers but there was an old solid gold men's Omega seamaster complete with gold BOR. Had an inscription with a name and date that was in the '60's on the back. Well we bought everything except the gold Omega on the day he arrived as he wanted way too much for it, but snapped a few pictures so we could contact some other buyers and see if there was any interest.
The inscribed name was quite unusual, both first and last, and my wife while looking at the pictures got the great idea to do a search on it. Low and behold the exact name popped up in a few places online. One was discussing the guy's art work and the other a police blotter in the same fella's location...a recent article on how his home and a few others in the posh neighborhood got burglarized. Now we knew what we were dealing with and figured best to avoid our Filipino-American friend and his deals from then on 馃榿

路Lol. I did look up the the owner of my first omega. He ran for senate in Kentucky. Didnt get many votes
Well at least in your case there was a good chance the watch was no longer wanted and disposed of by choice. The unfortunate fella I spoke about had no choice 馃榿
