Does anyone have an opinion on using a Clorox type wipe to clean a stainless bracelet, case and sapphire crystal?
I know it probably wouldn't be a good on plastics.
    Thanks for your thoughts!

What exactly are you trying to disinfect from it? Something specific or just general cleaning?

otherwise, soap and water basics does the trick.

No way I'd use a Clorox wipe. Plain soap and water, maybe an antibacterial washing-up liquid are what I use -- though I'm not wearing a watch when on call these days.

As OmeGez and scapa said, soap and (hot) water should be sufficient.

Just wear it normally and quarantine it for 2-3 weeks when you get home. Make sure to give it your Netflix account login.

    Thanks, all good stuff.
It's a Seamaster coming from NYC and just being extra careful.

My everyday work watch is either a Rolex OP or SMPC on stainless steel. Soap and water them before heading home, just as I do for my exposed head and arms. No need for alcohol or clorox on my face or watch. Biggest problem is leather straps. Cannot wear them at work even though I prefer them. Too hard to clean.

Always been soap, washing up liquid and warm water for me. All bar 1 watch is on bracelet so no need to worry about leather straps, they just get a wash along with the watch :)

    Sounds good!
If it's worked in your environment will be fine for me

If it's coronavirus that you're specifically worried about, then just leave the watch untouched for a few more days. Soap and water is ok if the watch is waterproof. Alcohol wipes are also ok, I'm not sure why people are against that idea.

I’m always worried about the alcohol or other chemicals hitting the rubber gaskets. I would think these chemicals would cause them to perish sooner.

Generally speaking, most rubber gasket materials have pretty good compatibility with alcohols, not so good with acetone.

Yes I would go along with this. Simple soap and water should do the trick. After all we are talking about metal surfaces so once washed clean there is no chance of the surface holding germ particles like skin or clothing would.

Could be a problem for people who have fewer than 14-21 watches in rotation.

No no no as others have said. I’d suggest a ultrasonic cleaner with warm water, soap and an anti bacterial solution mixed in . That’s assuming you’ve stripped the movement out first .if not just use a toothbrush and some Qtips

Why do you think so many people went to Costco and Sam's Club?
