Hi all
I was wondering why the lume plots look different.
I am not the original owner.

The lume plots on the dial are tritium which ages over time. Usual colors are a cream color or a lime green, depending on the batch used. With the hands, original ones usually age around the same pace.

With the skeleton hands, sometimes the lume would breakdown and if it was sent in for a service, the replacement hands had super luminova, which is white in color. At the time, it wasn't as noticeable since the tritium lume hadn't aged much and was still around the same color.

Oh sorry. I should have been more clear
The 2 o clock lume plots looks different than the other plots. And it also doesn't have lume on the entire circle? What are your thoughts?

That is just variance from the manufacturing process at that time, which on your dial must have been inside of the manufacturing tolerance at that time. That's a beautiful watch. 👍

Possibly water damage/mold, or that lume plot became damaged and was re-lumed. A UV shot could provide additional info.

Yeah, that's the tolerance at the time of production, nothing to worry about. If you look at the lume plots at 2, 4, 5, 7 on mine, you can see the variances in the lume plots compared to the other plots.

At the time, Omega was worried about getting watches to market. Before the Bond popularity shot off the scales, they were in financial difficulties so quality control took a back seat to watch production needing to be ramped up.

It's not lack of lum but black "moisture". Often on the hands. Rarer on the dial. With age happens. Very old grand ma you have.

Nothing to do now, it' probably old humidity damage. But be sure the watch is dry and change the gasket if you can. Always better.
