i think he collects a lot more than rolex but to his credit he was WAY early on the rolex craze. like a decade early. i am sure he has made 5x-10x on a lot of his early rolex
I went for his concert back in my college days. Sea of screaming girls and my buddies and I singing along to "Why Georgia Why"
My wife and I ended up with some free tickets to see him on his first major international tour to support the first album. The man has serious talent, but as you say the "sea of screaming girls" was too much for my ears (they were far louder than the music, to the point of being seriously painful!) and we didn't stay for the whole thing, which was unfortunate.
A similar thing happened to me at a Billy Joel concert. The woman right behind me was intent on screaming, at the top of her lungs, the word to every song in the playlist, and completely out of tune, mind you. Finally, I couldn't take it any more, and I turned, and said, "Listen, tell me where you live, and will come over your house, pay you $20, and have you sing all these songs for me. But in the meantime, can I just hear Billy do them? "

"I'd rather have the watch than the money". Really the money quote for me and a comment that put it all into perspective.
Because I'm definitely going to be money poor but watch rich in my life.
