Did Omega ever make an 18mm wide buckle in the 1950s?

I’ve just finished working on my Omega 2748 and I found the perfect strap from my drawer of plenty.. the problem is however - the buckle end measures 18mm!

This is clearly not ideal as it is neither particularly elegant nor time correct but I am willing to let it go and use it if I can find an 18mm buckle - the colour and texture are just so beautiful!

I have several of these buckles in 14mm and 16mm but I have not seen one in 18mm - did they make one?

Alternatively could anyone recommend somewhere I can buy a strap that is similar to the one I am using but with either a 14mm or 16mm buckle.

Thank you guys!

Ollie 😀

There is a thread on here on buckles. I would be very, very surprised if someone could show a 18 mm buckle from the 50ies, because I´m quite confident that there are none. The one you show above are 60ies buckles. I have had a few 50ies buckles and if I recall it correctly, they were 14 mm

Heresy, i know, but why not just put on a modern SS buckle from your AD?

HI
Sad part is the strap overpowers the watch.... you need a tapered to 16 or 14 mm for that case.... just my opinion...

Its a nice strap too bad its not a long , ( as that is what I need) hahahaha

That 18mm buckle would be nice if paired with a vintage speedmaster 😜
