So maybe i just have to hope for a barn find ...
I am sad today...
What are you talking about? You found one after about 3 weeks of looking and at what you considered a great price. A rare watch is something people spend several years looking for..

I've had a lot of enquires over things I've posted up as for sale on Instagram... nearly all from Italian dealers, who were very keen to tell me that what I had for sale was too expensive... and then when I looked on their sites, they had similar pieces for 2-3 times what I was asking.
I hope you then gave them a piece of your mind.

You are discovering just now very specific references which have been the subject of a fad, they are unquestionably beautiful but their prices have risen to levels many people consider absurd. There's one logical reason explaining those prices are so high though: you and some others are pursuing large size watches which were infrequent in those days and their scarcity is therefore making them exponentially more expensive.

You are totally right. But i.was just quite surprised to find some 2-3 years old FS ads asking really more realistic prices compare to what I can find today. As we all know that some reference ( eg speedmaster) have tremendously increased over the last years, i was asking myself if all market was following the same trends as soon as we are talking about low volume and special pieces. It seems that it is the case and not only for hot brand.

Je pense que tu as répondu à ta propre question, beaucoup de personnes cherchent la même chose et il n'y a rien sur le marché. Comme les collectionneurs sont des acheteurs compulsifs, les prix montent...
Ils restent les Kelton, Sicura...

That is the case for the specific references people go gaga over. The speedmaster is one and those watches are another. Try a Heuer 2446C first execution of whatever it's called or a UG Nina Rindt and you'll see.

Sure but those brands are discussed over and over on forums so we all know their price and rarity. Now, my point is more about less highlighted brand or watch which in fact are competing with the other in term of pricing even without being discussed so much.
But I think I have the answer to my first question and thanks all for your comments

Free translation: "I realize I have started a thread that is coming dangerously close to "outing" the less highlighted brands that I am pursuing and would like to shut this down immediately."

The experience of collecting for the past several years has been one of watching as one brand or model after another falls into the glare of internet scrutiny and out of the realm of reasonable prices. Even as we have posted to clarify variants, executions and frankens, we have stoked the fires under these prices. To paraphrase the great philosopher Homer Simpson "The internet - the solution to and source of all collectors' problems"

Thanks @LouS for your point. Unfortunately I think you misunderstood my comment. I just realised that some ( or even many many) watches I believed to be not very sought after were in fact real grail for really more initiated collector than me. I was maybe fool enough to believe that those watch can be found for affordable price but it seems not to be the case. So I think it is too late for me that's all. My last sentence was based of comments above explaining me that lots of collector are Hunting those watches so the price. BTW, if I would have wanted to hidde those piece I will not have start this trade. And again, who am I to even think that I could have found incredible watches and be the first one to discover them? 😀 I am a very little collector, even less than that...
So, My conclusion is I have to learn really more about watches that I didn't looked at in the past and Continue to discover many many outstanding watches outside... And win.the lottery...
