I really hope you didn't offer the seller more money! Not a gentlemanly thing to do and I would hope no serious OF member would act in this way

Agreed, very very poor form 👎

It looks like a dial from a 168.004, doesn't it? Like this one:

sort of -it's always difficult, with dials like the one you posted, to tell if they are two-tone pie-pans or dome dials made to look like pie-pans.
However, this one has classic 'prismatic' onyx inserts, whereas the OP's dial has the fat flat gold de-luxe dial onyx inserts. (except for the 3 index which looks prismatic)
The OP's dial looks pretty good (other than the MOY test) but there is just something about the whole watch that sets alarm bells ringing.

the fat flat inserts on OP's dial (correct for a gold dial - which, of course, could be seen on a solid gold watch)

These threads with no references, about a deal, to good be true, seems to be just fishing for likes and attention. In my opinon this story feels fabricated. With all due respect.

A franken watch in gold for a penny...

To be fair, I would have been in doubt as well. What is it they say? When it's too good to be true, it probably is!
