Count me out on anything USA. I don’t have a passport, and the way things are above the 49th, it is unlikely I’d be able to get one if I applied tomorrow. As Pierre Poilievre ( our next prime minister) has said, “Canada doesn’t need a government that wants to run our lives, but a government that can run a passport office!”
I simply cannot stop laughing! Thank you for bringing a little humor and joy to my afternoon.

Did you seriously print that pattern on the leather yourself? It’s nice - and fun! 👍
And here’s the Ranchero in her new home. I want to publicly acknowledge Steve’s efforts to put together OF’s first Detroit G2G. It was a great event and I’m sure that it won’t be the last. In addition, Steve’s superb leatherwork skills as well as his kindness and generosity are all on display in this thread. I already knew that he was a stand up guy from communicating with him online and he certainly lived up to that reputation in person. Mad Dog as well. In fact, everyone who attended was kind, funny, knowledgeable, humble and really interesting. It was time well spent. So glad that I made the trip.

I did. Thank you! I have had stamps for many years. I use them mostly for non watch projects like cases, belts and holsters. They are small. One stamp at a time. There are rollers available to speed things up, but it looks so perfect. Mine look more rustic.

Wow. One stamp at a time is impressive. And that case looks super cool.

Two shady looking attendees in a nearby parking garage standing in front of a cake loving OF member’s vintage Ford Crown Victoria Police Interceptor. Would you buy a used watch from these guys!?! 😲

Great to see the @Mad Dog has graduated from "double-dogging' it" to "quad-doggin' it".
His security detail looks more than capable too, which is re-assuring, considering the next stop will probably be Hooters.

Looks like a great GTG, and also a very appealing leather pattern.
Are you making watch rolls out of that ? 😜
Also… dibs to the owner of what appears to be a Seamaster with ribbon dial? I missed a couple opportunities to get one unfortunately.
A better photo of the ribbon dialed Seamaster. Owner: me.

Yeppers…it was a really, really cool time at the 2023 DTW OF GTG! 😎

This was my first GTG with multiple OF members in attendance. It was so good to meet and converse with everybody in a face-to-face manner…and to hear and learn about the backgrounds of various watches [as well as backgrounds regarding other matters]. Many, many thanks to Steve for setting this up and for the personalized swag bags containing his “many, many years of academy training” leatherwork. 👍

And here is evidence of the three pieces of chocolate cake. Lots of fun! I sent the bill to @dsio

Those were my instructions right?

Yeppers…and I’ll tell you…I still have chocolate cake hangover. I’m not used to doing that…I’ll pull a circus stunt like that maybe once a year.

That cake was $15.00 for EACH piece!?! Lol. Yet another Mad Dog classic. Glad that I didn't buy a whole cake for you to take home. 😁

It was entirely worth it for the sheer entertainment value. 😀

I haven't been following OF for a while and saddened to see a GTG just took place 5 miles / 13 mins from my new home in Michigan! If there is a next time near Detroit I will be sure to attend, may have to stockpile some chocolate cake in advance...

Better make sure that it's really good chocolate cake. Mad Dog has high expectations. 😁

Was wondering how your pancreas felt after spitting out like a gallon of insulin to keep you from a diabetic coma.

I checked medical journals Bob. There are no calories at watch get togethers. Mad Dog secretly knew that, I think.

I'm so sorry to have missed you all 🙁

Ended up as the DD for a combined bachelor/bachelorette party. It was low-key and everyone behaved, if you must know!

Will be looking forward to the opportunity to see you all on the next one!

Please enjoy this photo of Niagara Falls I took just a few minutes ago!

Check out the red talk bubbles below…I believe that’s where the pancreas is generally located [reference the lower red talk bubble]…I should know since I’m an Eagle Scout. 👍

Bonus: My “George Costanza Wallet” is indicated via the blue circle. 👍
