Destruction Test

Today I was given the opportunity to do a little destruction test on a fake Speedmaster.

Started with a “this has stopped, can you do anything”

Finished with “can smash it with a hammer multiple times and see if it will start again”

So with a bit of banter the Fake was handed over for Destruction testing for your pleasure.

So what would the forum like to see……

Feel free to give your suggestions

Fire! Hitting it with a hammer will be over too quickly.

Sounds like it doesn’t belong to you? Let the owner take it back and decide what to do with it.

Owner had it for years and wore it and was happy to give to me knowing it was going to cost money to fix it, if possible.
He had a think about it and put it on my desk and said have fun with it. 👍
He is well aware it will meet a grizzly end 😗

He has had a nice vintage Seamaster serviced by @photo500 and had no issue with the cost of servicing as it has sentimental value to him.

He was well aware it was a fake given to him by one of his kids that went overseas many years ago.

Run it through the NASA tests - see if it survives.

Might have to give it the Fish Tank Test

A 1953 vintage Winchester Model 70 .30-06 kept on hand here could stick a .30 caliber hole in the middle of it from 100 yards from off the bench rest if the fake was fixed to the target.

I would encourage you to compare fake and original at a minimum of n=3 per condition due to statistical reasons.😗

A day in the life of @STANDY is probably enough to test the limits.
We've all seen his REAL Speedy....

I am going to withdrawal my previous suggestion and make a new, more Aus-centric suggestion:
1- Attach an airtag (or similar) to the watch
2- attach watch to chicken leg
3- feed said leg to croc
4- post progress and track that salty!
5- possible recovery would be epic, but not suggested
