Defective Seamaster Planet Ocean

Hi everyone! I just bought this brand new Seamaster Planet Ocean 39.5mm from an AD and i notice there’s a defect on the 6 o’clock marker. It actually says “9” instead of “6”.

Has this happened to anyone? I’m thinking of keeping it instead of exchanging because it’s kinda unique.

I would 100% keep this!

Now when it comes due for a service, would Omega insist upon a dial replacement, that’s something I hope others can comment about.

I've seen a picture of an issue like this, but on a Rolex lol.
I guess it definitely happens, but is super rare.

Kinda a funny novelty to keep around, but I'd be slightly concerned people think I'm wearing a fake lol.

Yeah I saw an article on a Rolex Air King too. Same issue lol apparently it drove the value of that watch up by 4k because of the defect.

Yeah that’s what I was concerned about too but it just seems a bit more special this way. I kinda feel like it adds character since these are handmade and as we know, human makes mistakes lol. I doubt anyone would notice

This would haunt me on my sleep if I were in your shoes. I would demand for a new one.

Pity that everyone missed this from the Omega QC, AD, and yourself... Sure this isn't photochopped? 😀

Personally, I would be annoyed and exchange it. However if you like it, keep it as is until your first service.

Haha yeah I was hella mad yesterday too. I actually came to the AD to exchange today but they went on vacation (told me this a couple weeks back). Kinda felt like this watch was meant to be the one

Now it’s growing on me. I feel like I might miss it once i exchange lol. It’s like 1/1000000 chance for this to happen.

Omega version of the Air King double 9 ::facepalm1::
I would keep it 😁

This one is much better though. No date and symmetrical as most of us want it haha 😀

I find it nearly impossible this would slip by quality control. Suspect photoshop.

My first impression as well, considering as a first post and all. Error "9" seems crooked.

Keep it, you don't know the flaws that will come with an exchanged unit 😀

Handmade? Not to my knowledge they aren’t.

It’s Friday afternoon, time to down tools and head to the pub. Last job before we head off is to finish this dial, now where did I put the 3? Oh bugger, we’ve run out of 3s, but we have plenty of 9s & 6s....😉😎🙄

If you can't live with it, try selling it before sending it back. There may be a keen collector out there that will pay more than a new one costs. If so, you can sell, purchase another one and make a slight profit.
