Hello OF users,

Probably one of the most overlooked watch from Omega's current collection. I was blown away the first time I saw this one at a boutique and had no choice but to get it at retail price (about USD 20k equivalent), knowing gold dress watches drop in value by 40% or so the moment I walk out from the store.

The homepage does not mention it, but this watch has two convenient functions -1) it allows no harm to the movement from over-winding because the barrels allow slipping & 2) it allows the hour hand be adjusted in one hour increment when the crown is put out by one step. The others are all standard co-axial and master chronometer certified with 30m WR. The winding feel is smooth as butter.

There are very few reviews out there, but I think it's very subtle, elegant and beautiful!

It is a beautiful classical style dress watch once you get past the price, very slim at 10.65mm, modern dress watch diameter and a subtle yet interesting dial design

Those features like the jumping hour come from it being still derived from the Cal 8900 used in the Planet Ocean, an evolution of the Cal 8500 and a pretty well proven movement

It's called 'jumping hour' - thanks for letting me know. I am new to watches.

I decided to get a gold dress watch but unlike stainless steel watches (which I am okay to purchase pre-owned depending on the amount of scratches and dents) I wanted to buy a new one, and one is enough for dress watch. I looked into brands like IWC, Jaeger, Vacheron, A.Lange, Blancpain etc and tried their gold dress watches on wrist on various price points. I got the point Vacheron, Breguet and A.Lange stand at a different league from Omega, but this watch deserves more interest and likes than at least the likes of Jaeger, IWC. Strange that it's not talked about.

Thanks for comment!
