Dan henry review

Hi all, I had a very poor experience buying from Dan Henry. I bought a watch that looked nice but didn't fit me. Upon trying to return the watch I had the chance to email with Dan Henry himself. Because I had pulled a very small piece of plastic off the watchband to try it on, Dan said that the watch was "used" and that they don't accept used watches back. I had literally tried the watch on for a few seconds before recognizing it needed to be returned. I can't picture any other luxury brand behaving like this. It is an ultimate "gotcha" feeling in that I'm sure many others make the same mistake and are unable to return or exchange the watches. I'm really sad because I liked the brand and the story and ultimately the business revealed itself to be very amateur and self serving.

I understand that it is disappointing that this would be the result, but they are explicitly clear on their website that this is their policy - they frankly are far more clear than most places are. Now do I think that the policy is a good one? No, I don't - I think that it's kind of ridiculous that as a business you can't accept a return from a user that wants to try the watch on. Would I have read this myself ahead of time? Maybe if I had doubts when I opened the package, but probably not.

UNWORN CONDITION ONLY
We understand that you want to try the watch on your wrist, but all returned watches must be in perfect unworn condition (with all the plastic protection adhesives intact and still glued to the watch), and in their original packaging (black cylinder and cardboard box). We do not accept slightly worn watches for refunds. If the watch is returned in perfect condition, but the strap has been used or marked, we won’t accept the watch, and it will be returned to you.

I bought (and posted) this 1964 Gran Turismo secondhand, last September.
I don’t know if the seller didn’t wear it but it was in pristine condition and has worked perfectly since I got it.

Sorry to read about your misfortune with the return -- I would be disappointed as well... as a curiosity, is "Dan Henry" really considered a luxury brand?

Not a luxury brand as far as I’m aware.

Just a micro brand that sells nice looking watches pretty cheaply. Mine above is around USD300 new.
